About The Artist
Lisa's art reflects the contradictions of her life. She is one of those rare
artists who are equally comfortable in three dimensions as in two. Her two
dimensional work is usually done in acrylic, pen and ink, pen/ink and prismacolour
or pen/ink and watercolour. However, don't be surprised to find graphite or even crayon used.
Her three dimensional media include clay, fabric, wood and even stone.
Her subjects show the same contradictions. They run the gamut from Dragons
and Teddy Bears to the Aurora Borealis to Shipside in the 1850’s. From the far
flung future to the distant past, and from details of real life to the sparks of
imagination. “It’s funny,” she says, “I draw realistic portraits of imaginary
creatures”.
Born in New Liskeard Ontario, Lisa spent most of her life in Ottawa, Ontario,
Canada.
She was trained in Graphic Arts in Ottawa, Canada and also attended Algonquin College
where she studied Museum Technology. She currently lives in Mississauga, Ontario,
Canada
with her husband, two children and two cats.
